As a follow-up to my previous post, here're some prices for the GBA doohickeys;

The XG Linker dodgy looking Chinese site, bad translation, but they sell through GBAx.com, whom I like already. They sell thru several other merchants, but this is the only UK based merchant. They have the 256MB kit (linker hardware etc + 256MB cart) at £96.99 + p&p. This solution is USB based, the smallest, fastest, and uses less GBA battery when being played. Nice. By the looks of it, this connects the cart direct to the USB gadget.

The only UK site I can really find is this same one - GBAx.com - so that's where we're looking for the other solutions also.

Next up - Flash2Advance Linker Kits. Another dodgy chinese site, better english though! This one is £99.99 for 256MB, connects to the gamelink port of the GBA, and writes data to the cart in the GBA itself.

Both support NES and ZX Spectrum ROMs, both support multiple games on one cart with a menu system. The Flash2Advance is supposedly twice as fast as the USB one, since it connects direct to the GBA..

Ok - here're the prices for each from a UK site and a US site, including delivery charges;

If I can find enough decent ROMs to make this worthwhile, then I may just get one of those... hmmm....
Ok. Wow. I like my all new GBA Sp lots. However - I don't like paying lots of money for little games. So here's a solution - whilst searching for a power transformer on monday (my GBA is Jappy, hence don't work with Brit power) I found software and hardware you can buy to not only copy your GBA games to your PC - but load several of them back into a blank cartridge!

Hence you can download GBA ROMs from the net, load them into your GBA blank cart and blammo - free shit!

I also found all these tools to convert other console ROMs to GBA ROMs - hence you can play NES, ZX Spekky, Sega MS, and SNES games on your damned GBA!!!! YEAH BABY!!!!

Here's a list of sites with goodies

http://www.flash2advance.com/ - flash 2 advance pc to GBA kit (the thingy that copys games to and from your gba)
http://www.cdworld.co.uk/mmcd/gbcd/ - UK based GBA products site. Bloody good stuff.
http://www.gp32.com/ - weird Korean console - plays squillions of other types of roms and emulators on it. You'll need to change it to the english version which has no info at all. So mybe just Goole "gp32"
http://gbxemu.com/ - GBA ROMs site - very slow, very cute
http://vboy.emuhq.com/downloads.shtml - GBA emulator
http://gbxemu.times.lv/com/gba/gba_rom_morphing.htm - convert ROMs for other consoles to .gba
http://www.gameboy-advance.net/gba_roms/gba_rom_faq.htm - gba rom faqs UK
http://nes.pocketheaven.com/downloads.html - nes ROM translator
http://www.obsession.se/pocket/shell.html - PogoShell (doohickey for decent and easy saving of ROMS to the blank cart) with built in NES translator
http://snes2gba.vze.com/ - SNES to GBA - includes some preconverted SNES files

There. And it's not even lunchtime yet. I can time to head down the JobCentre and have a cup of tea before lunch.

Nice.

You're so damned cool, Skuff... :p

So - the Gameboy Advance SP - excellent!!! Yayyyy!!! The lit screen is immensely better, so I could play it on the tube this morning, blackouts n all. It's feckin teeeeny - the size of the original's screen, which folds open to double that size.
However - no headphones socket!! Noooooo!!! I always used to hook it up to speakers, and that worked luverly like. But now - NO!

I'm hoping there's an adapter for the extenstion port for headphones...

Even tho mine came all the way from jappyland, the internal battery pack lasted several hours of unrecharged play. nice. Then charged all night, played all the way home - still working! :o)

What else did I get up to..? Spent the whole weekend with Ana, but friday night a friend wof hers had a house party that involved a room full of balloons and a masseeeev bubble machine + verrryy loud music! nice. Another room had a giant inflatable pool, all full of water and inflatable dolphins! The main upstairs bit had about a half foot of sand covering the floor!!

But yet it sucked.

All the elements of a wicked party, but ended up being quite lame. Think it's cos it was seriously overcrowded, so you ended up finding a space in a room and sticking to it..

ah well. At least the gameboy rules!

All saturday we were seriously hungover - just vegged out in front of the tv before cooking a huge ol meal.

All in all I'd give it a B- - could do better. :p

Nice one Joe!!!

I've been working on a really small mini-site... I've just uploaded a demo .... click here to see it. Ignore the content and theme coz that'll change hopefully with all your help!!! What could I use it for? What themes could I have? My brain isn't really working that well!

GBA SP, oo er!!! How much was it? Can you recommend any games? I bought Alone in the Dark for the Gameboy Color a week ago (using ebay of course!), fantastic graphics, the actual game sucks a bit though!

I'm downloading MP3's at the mo', got any suggestions?

Oooh yeah... like the site Skuff, nice one!

Yaaaayyyy!!!
Two things - firstly, the interviews yesterday. They both went extremely well indeeeeeed (thanks for the inquiry Flapjack) - the first one was in this dead trendy bit of Old Street, where oddly enough I saw one of my old Brick Lane flatmates.. crazy shit.

Anyway - it's exactly the type of place I wanna work; totally tekky, relaxed but efficent and structured, interesting products that I have interest in. But are only willing to pay me 5 grand less than the minimum I was willing to accept... grrr...

Then the second one (which was the second interview for those peeps) was excellent also. Everyone I talked to had seen my site (ICDRP) and loved it - including the main boss dude and the main tekky dude!! Yay!

But that's not a particularly good wage either. So I'm considering lowering my contracting rate to still get a better wage.. hmm...

Secondly - I've got the new Gameboy Advance SP!!! It's sooooooo tiny!!! And the backlight it exactly what was missing! It rules, baby!!

Thirdly - nice one Skuffster!! RAWK ON!!

...hey, get to yer interview yer slacker!!!
ooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOooooooohhhhhhhh!
get you, missus.

... that's you that is!
Post something, ya bastards.
I'm busy.

I have many interviews n shit - go see cj.com :o)

heheh...

Yeah - saw it on thursday. It's nothing wonderful, but very enjoyable - especially all the scenes where you're shown what Affleck can see by sonar/radar - seriously cool when it rains. Nothing amazing at all. Bullseye is barely used, fuck all lines and those he does have are shite. Electra is a seriously gorgeous beehatch, who kicks some monkey butt in the playground!!
Just watch it to find out what I mean.

Jon Favereau is fat.

Kingpin - I forget the dude's name, but it's NOT Ving Rhames for fucks sake!! Everyone always seems to confuse the two, just cos they're big n black... This guy is the HUGE dude out of The Green Mile, Scorpion King, Armageddon (leeeeeavin on a jet plane) - and he's a very good kingpin.

Outfits are great, camera work is great, scenes above the city are great - but it's lacking that something special to pull it all together. Worth seeing, nonetheless.

:o)

Y'know, I was totally fine with the idea of Hell, of eternal damnation. Skin burning off my bones and the such. Seemed like a blast.

But apparantly, according to hear'say, who were crap, so I started listening to LL Cool J - because Ladies certainly do Love Cool James - and according to LL Cool J, get this;

Paradise is very nice.

Shit! I'm sold! That's it! No more evil doing for me! Since paradise is, apparantly, so very nice, that's where I wanna go now.

Wow - I can't wait. Very nice, he said.

Very nice.

Spaced was an ace show. I've been watching the dvds of the first 2 series over the last couple of days, and it is soooo luverly indeedy. However - check the website and you'll find their other projects include this great little film; Shaun Of The Dead!!!
Tagline: Buy some milk. Call Mum. Avoid zombies.

:):):):):) heeeheeee!!!
[Daisy answers phone]
Daisy: Oh hi Mike. Yeah, he's here, I'll just get him.
[to Tim]
Daisy: It's your boyfriend.
Tim: He's not my boyfriend.
[picks up phone]
Tim: Hi babe.
Mike Watt: Hello Timmy.
Tim: Where are you?
Mike: Err, Sheffield.
Tim: What are you doing in Sheffield?
Mike: Fell asleep on the tube.
Tim: The tube doesn't go to Sheffield, Mike.
Mike: Yeah, I know. I um must have changed at King's Cross.
Brian Topp: Do you think I should lose the waistcoat.
Tim: I think you should burn it. 'Cause, y'know, if you lose it, you might find it again.
oooh, I hate the "blob" too, yeeeurrch! nasty nasty nasty!!!
Thanks to Angst Technology, I've found the wonder os Pornolize - it IS as good as it sounds!! Go try it out!!
Especially if you wait til they're all on the blob. Seriously dangerous beehatches....

This cannot be happening.
THIS.
CANNOT.
BE HAPPENING!!!!!

We lost to the Ozzzies - at FOOTBALL!!

IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD...
Oooh, yeah! I like the idea of Robo running the car lot. He'd have to wear a thick sheepskin jacket and a hat ala Frank Butcher.

Alex Murphy (Robo) had a kid didn't he. Imagine if his kid had a family and at Christmas they'd have a family getogether with good ol' grandad Robo (wearing slippers and smoking a pipe, swearing and farting uncontrollably).

----- eh, ye daft buggers!

I invested a few months ago in the Special Edition Robocop DVD, wow... forgot how good that film is! Anyway, I was thinking what would be next in the Robocop franchise... how about a musical!!!?

...maybe not.
But what would happen to dear Robo after reaching retirement (lets just pretend the whole Robo thing is real - OK!), well after all he couldn't stay "the latest thing in technology" for long before Nintendo or Sony released "Cybercop" or whatever (ya still with me?). So after a few upgrades would that be it? Maybe, but I think he'd become a P.I or maybe he'd sell life insurance to gypsies? Wouldn't it be great if he found a passion for cooking or cross-stitching. Wow the possibilities are endless!!!

Anyway... is anyone there? Haven't scared you all off have I?
