To anyone with kids of any age, here's some advice. Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.
Rule 1:
Life is not fair - get used to it!
Rule 2:
The world won't care about your self-steem The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3:
You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
Rule 4:
If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
Rule 5:
Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping - they called it opportunity.
Rule 6:
If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7:
Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try

5. GOING TO THE TIP - A manly act which combines driving, lifting and - as you thrillingly drop your rubbish into another huge pile of other rubbish - noisy destruction.
6. DRINKING UP - Specifically, rising from the table, slinging your coat on and downing two thirds of a pint in one fluid movement. Then nodding towards the door, saying, "Let's go", and striding out while everyone else struggles to catch up with you. God, you're hard.
7. HAVING A THIN BIT OF WOOD - in the shed, solely to stir paint with.
8. HAVING A SCAR - Ideally it'll be a facial knife wound, but even an iron burn on the wrist is good. "Ooh, did it hurt". "Nah".
9. HAVING A HANGOVER AND THICK STUBBLE - When birds have been partying they just whinge. You, on the other hand have physical evidence of your hardness, sprouting from your face. "Big night?" Grr, what does it look like.
10. NODDING AT COPPERS - A moments eye contact is all it takes for you to share the unspoken bond. "We've not seen eye to eye in the past", it says, "but someone's got to keep the little scrotes in line".
11. USING POWER TOOLS - slightly more powerful than you need or can safely handle. Pneumatic drilling while smoking a fag? Superb.

How's everyone doing?
I just saw The Chronicles of Riddick or as I like to call it; Chronically Ridiculous! It wasn't that bad really, the visuals are pretty cewl but I thought the story was a tad too ambitious - nice enough ending though!
They had some really cool trailers;
Aliens Vs. Predator - It'll probably be pants but looks fun!
Resident Evil: Apocolypse - It'll probably be pants but looks fun!
Hero - Jet Li on a bloody cake fueled sword swooshing revenge! Looks totally awesome and is produced by Mr. Tarintino.
Nuff said! :-)

I was just doing some random searches; decided to look for Spider-Man 3 forums and came across news that 'a film studio' has bought the rights to make a Venom movie!!! Cool huh!

Ok. Now it's getting desperate. So far only Me, Ned and El Pres are going to paintball. I booked for 8 people which cost me.. oooh.. a non-refundable hundred and something quid. dammit.
So i've done the last resort mass email today to ask for help from anyone who knows anyone who might be interested. Otherwise it'll be a team of 2 versus a team of 1 for the day... well, I assume there'll be other people there, but still..

Hmm, b-day plans.... er, nothing's planned as yet. I'm working on the 10th but booked the 11th off (just incase!). I'm not really that bothered about getting plastered (as it were) but if you're free give me a shout! Do you wanna take my Hellboy DVD to Joes this weekend? Just dont leave it there dammit!!! Could I have it back by the end of next week at the latest, I think my bro's visiting!

Hey Joe, I just found a download for the Van Helsing game for the GBA - go check it out!
Oh yeah, here's the first official pic of the new Nintendo handheld (the screens have been faked using PhotoShop by the looks of things so don't get too excited!). The first few games will be the usual suspects (Mario/Zelda/Metroid.... yawn!).
And here's the rival, the Sony PSP - I'm sure it'll be the better of the two.
Nuff said!
